Trioracodon ferox
Taxonomy
Triconodon ferox was named by Owen (1871). Its type specimen is BMNH 47775, a mandible (left mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mammal Bed, Durlston Bay (DB83), which is in a Berriasian marine horizon in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Trioracodon.
It was recombined as Trioracodon ferox by Owen (1871), Simpson (1928), Hay (1930), Clemens (1963), Jenkins and Crompton (1979) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
