Taxonomy
Enigmalites lautus was named by Tchudinova (1975). Its type specimen is PIN 3494/1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Most Section, Shikhany Horizon, Kos'va River, which is in a Shikhanian carbonate limestone in the Shikhany Formation of the Russian Federation.
