Taxonomy
Permorthotetes crespinae was named by Thomas (1958). Its type specimen is CPC 1487, a valve (dorsal valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Waterford Locality 41, Winderie Station, which is in a Sakmarian coastal siliciclastic in Australia.
