Battus laevigatus was named by Dalman (1828). It is not extant. It is the type species of Lejopyge.
It was recombined as Lejopyge laevigata by Hawle and Corda (1847); it was recombined as Agnostus laevigatus by Linnarsson (1869); it was recombined as Lejopyge laevigatus by Bruton et al. (1984).
