Taxonomy
Spiriferina angulata was named by King (1931).

It was recombined as Spiriferellina angulata by Termier et al. (1974); it was recombined as Crenispirifer angulatus by Stehli (1954), Cooper and Grant (1976) and Zeng et al. (1995).
