Taxonomy
Cheilotomona acutocarinata was named by Tong and Erwin (2001). Its type specimen is USNM 485626 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saierlangshan Section, Bed 58-3, which is in an Anisian carbonate limestone in the Guojiashan Formation of China.
