Taxonomy
Notothyris polaris was named by Tschernyschew and Stepanow (1916). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Store Björnekap unspecified, König Oscar Land, which is in an Artinskian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Great Bear Cape Formation of Canada.
