Kielantherium gobiensis

Taxonomy
Kielantherium gobiensis was named by Dashzeveg (1975). Its type specimen is GI (Ulan Bator) No. PST 10-14, a tooth (right lower molar, possibly M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khovboor (PIN coll. 3101), which is in an Aptian/Albian terrestrial sandstone in the Dzunbain Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Kielantherium.

It was recombined as Aegialodon gobiensis by Fox (1976); it was corrected as Kielantherium gobiense by Lopatin and Averianov (2007).
