Taxonomy
Leptoconops (Leptoconops) clava was named by Borkent (1997). Its type specimen is SMNS UB-1-WK-1, an exoskeleton (adult male), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ajka amber (SMNS collection), which is in a Santonian terrestrial amber in Hungary.
