Taxonomy
Araripelibellula britannica was named by Fleck et al. (2008). Its type specimen is MNEMG 2008.24, a hindwing (male hindwing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Bed DB66, Soft Cockle Beds, Swanage, which is in a Berriasian lagoonal siliciclastic in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom.
