Pliosaurus gamma
Taxonomy
Pliosaurus gamma was named by Phillips (1871). Its type specimen is OUMNH J.10455 (lectotype), a set of vertebrae (cervical vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near Weymouth, which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian marine horizon in the Kimmeridge Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
