Taxonomy
Loripes proavius was named by Waagen (1881). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kufri, top of Middle Productus-limestone, Salt Range, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Wargal Formation of Pakistan.
