Taxonomy
Ypresiomyrma bartletti was named by Archibald et al. (2006). Its type specimen is GSC 127632ab, an exoskeleton (queen body with wing), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is McAbee (University College of the Cariboo TRU coll), which is in a Ypresian lacustrine - large mudstone in Canada.
