Plesigomphaeschnaoides paleocenica
Taxonomy
Gomphaeschna paleocenica was named by Madsen and Nel (1997). Its type specimen is NR 2 Coll. Madsen, an exoskeleton (body with four wings in connection), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ejerslev Molergrav, Mors, between layers +25 and +30 , which is in a Ypresian offshore ramp diatomite/volcaniclastic in the Fur Formation of Denmark.
It was recombined as Plesigomphaeschnaoides paleocenica by Bechly et al. (2001).
