Taxonomy

Plateumaris was named by Thomson (1859). It is extant.

It was assigned to Chrysomelidae by Martynov (1929) and Fujiyama and Nomura (1986); to Donaciinae by Askevold (1990), Hayashi (1997), Hayashi (1999), Hayashi (2000) and Hayashi (2001); and to Plateumarini by Bouchard et al. (2011).
