Taxonomy
Brontozoum tianschanicum was named by Romanovskyi (1882). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Ravat tracksite, which is in a Jurassic/Jurassic lagoonal sandstone/conglomerate in the Dzhirukut Formation of Tajikistan.

It was recombined as Gabirutosaurus tianschanicus by Romanovsky (1882); it was recombined as Eubrontes thianschanicum by Kuhn (1963) and Haubold (1971); it was recombined as Gabirutosaurichnus tianschanicus by Gabuniya and Kurbatov (1988) and Dzhailov and Novikov (1993).
