Taxonomy
Paraparchites punctatus was named by Watabe and Kaesler (2004). Its type specimen is KUMIP 1129861 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Eskridge, mile marker 292, 4 km NW on Highway 4, which is in a Sakmarian marine shale in the Wreford Formation of Kansas.
