Taxonomy
Paraconularia matauraensis was named by Waterhouse (1979). Its type specimen is NZGS CO 1419 and is a mold. Its type locality is GS4535, Mataura River (F45/f9548), which is in an Otapirian marine horizon in New Zealand.
