Productus (Linoproductus) abrupta was named by Reed (1944) [Productus (Linoproductus) simensis var. abrupta
Productus (Linoproductus) simensis var. abrupta]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Banschang, E of Chhidru, no 3 bed, K31.379-390, Salt Range, which is in a Changhsingian marine horizon in the Chhidru Formation of Pakistan.
It was recombined as Schrenkiella abrupta by Waterhouse and Chen (2007).
