Taxonomy
Atomodesma obliquatum was named by Waterhouse (1963). Its type specimen is NZGS TM3366 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GS7344, Letham Burn (D44/f9862), which is in a Kungurian marine horizon in the Letham Formation of New Zealand.
