Ambikella furca

Taxonomy
Ambikella furca was named by Waterhouse (1967). Its type specimen is NZGS BR1194 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GS9140, Roding River (N28/f7700), which is in a Changhsingian carbonate limestone in the Stephens Formation of New Zealand.

J. B. Waterhouse 1967Transverse or elongate inflated Ambikella, sulcus narrow and groove-like posteriorly, wide anteriorly, with two prominent subplicae and a median groove. Dorsal fold with shallow or deep sulcus. Plicae low or absent, surface grooves short, close-set. Dental plates high, adminicula long, moderately close-set. Dorsal adminicula very long.
