Taxonomy
Filiconcha auricula was named by Waterhouse (1976). Its type specimen is NZGS BR1703 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GS11139, Sutherland Farm (G45/f8689), which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the AG4 Formation of New Zealand.
