Taxonomy
Squamularia umbonalis was named by Waterhouse (1983). Its type specimen is UQ F73660 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UQ L4804, Manang District, which is in a Changhsingian marine siliciclastic in the Senja Formation of Nepal.
