Taxonomy
Permasyrinx prolonga was named by Waterhouse (1987). Its type specimen is UQ F70211 and is a mold. Its type locality is UQ L4316, Ross Creek Tributary, Cracow Station, which is in a Kungurian coastal siltstone in the Brae Formation of Australia.
