Taxonomy
Mooreoceras australis was named by Waterhouse (1987). Its type specimen is UQ F69968 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UQ L2574, creek behind stockyard, Gyranda Homestead, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine siliciclastic in the Barfield Formation of Australia.
