Taxonomy
Mesogyrus striatus was named by Ponomarenko (1973). Its type specimen is PIN 2587/11, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Undurga river (PIN collection 2587), which is in an Aptian terrestrial mudstone in the Turga Formation of the Russian Federation.
