Taxonomy
Contocrinus andamanensis was named by Webster and Jell (1993). Its type specimen is USNM 450326 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM9271, Ko Muk Island northeast undivided, which is in a Roadian offshore shelf limestone in the Rat Buri Formation of Thailand.
