Taxonomy

Sinopalaeocossus was named by Hong (1983). Its type is Sinopalaeocossus scabratus.

It was assigned to Orthoptera by Hamilton (1992); and to Palaeontinidae by Hong (1983), Wang et al. (2006) and Chen et al. (2016).
