Taxonomy
Notothyris bifoldes was named by Xu and Grant (1994). Its type specimen is USNM 456205 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Paoshui Section, Paoshui Fm, Laibin County, which is in a Changhsingian marine horizon in the Paoshui Formation of China.
