Taxonomy
Protelencholax schleei was named by Kinzelbach (1979). Its type specimen is Do-7-K-1, an exoskeleton (male imago), and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (SMNS coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic. It is the type species of Protelencholax.
