Neochonetes (Huangichonetes) substrophomenoides

Strophomenata - Productida - Rugosochonetidae

Chonetes substrophomenoides was named by Huang (1932). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Panshan, Locality T20a, T'ungtzuhsien, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in China. It is the type species of Neochonetes (Huangichonetes).

It was recombined as Chonetina substrophomenoides by Shimizu (1961); it was recombined as Neochonetes substrophomenoides by Yang et al. (1977), Wang et al. (1982), Zhan (1989), Yanagida et al. (1993), Zeng et al. (1995) and Shen et al. (1995); it was recombined as Chonetinella substrophomenoides by Feng and Jiang (1978), Liao (1980) and Niu et al. (2003); it was recombined as Neochonetes (Huangichonetes) substrophomenoides by Shen and Archbold (2002), Campi et al. (2005), Zhang et al. (2013), Shen et al. (2017) and He et al. (2019).
