Taxonomy
Ulmeriella rubiensis was named by Lewis (1973). Its type specimen is B-72, a hindwing (complete hindwing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Ruby River, between Peterson and Morman Creeks, which is in a Whitneyan lacustrine shale in the Renova Formation of Montana.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Nel and Paicheler (1993).
