Mancalla diegensis

Taxonomy
Pliolunda diegense was named by Miller (1937). Its type specimen is UCMP 33409, a limb element (right femur), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP V3717, which is in a Pliocene coastal conglomerate in the San Diego Formation of California. It is the type species of Pliolunda.

It was recombined as Mancalla diegense by Miller and Howard (1949), Wetmore (1960) and Howard (1970); it was considered a nomen dubium by Smith (2011); it was recombined as Mancalla diegensis by Olson (1981), Howard (1982), Chandler (1990) and Boessenecker (2011).
