Pseudodalatias barnstonensis
Taxonomy
Dalatias barnstonensis was named by Sykes (1971). Its type specimen is BMNH P51407, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barnstone railway cutting, which is in a Rhaetian coastal siliciclastic in the Westbury Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Pseudodalatias barnstonensis by Reif (1978), Tintori (1980), Duffin and Delsate (1993) and Diependaal and Reumer (2021).
