Lecanoaspis was named by Ivshin (1962) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-l Sepkoski's reference number: 380]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cheilocephalidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
