Taxonomy
Enodicarcinus atherfieldensis was named by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2011). Its type specimen is SMB14277, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Atherfield, Isle of Wright [Lower Greensand], which is in an Aptian coastal sandstone in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Enodicarcinus.
