Taxonomy
Nitotacarcinus lutarius was named by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2011). Its type specimen is BMNH In. 36135, a cephalothorax, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Cliff Herne Bay, which is in a Ypresian marine claystone in the London Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
