Lobonotus sturgeoni
Taxonomy
Glyphithyreus sturgeoni was named by Feldmann et al. (1998). Its type specimen is CM 36036, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lanier Quarry (CM collection), which is in a Bartonian deep subtidal limestone in the Castle Hayne Formation of North Carolina.
It was recombined as Lobonotus sturgeoni by Schweitzer et al. (2007), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Luque et al. (2017).
