Taxonomy
Cerorhinca minor was named by Howard (1971). Its type specimen is LACM 15408, a limb element (proximal right humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo Tiberon, which is in a Zanclean coastal horizon in the Almejas Formation of Mexico.
