Taxonomy
Crioceris was named by Geoffroy (1762). It is extant. It is the type genus of Criocerinae, Criocerini, Criocerides.
It was assigned to Coleoptera by Geoffroy (1762), Schaeffer (1766) and Latreille (1796); to Eleuterata by Fabricius (1775) and Fabricius (1798); to Chrysomelinae by Latreille (1802); to Chrysomelidae by Cockerell (1921); and to Criocerini by Bouchard et al. (2011) and Bukejs and Schmitt (2016).
