Maduiya was named by Rozova (1963) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Dres-u Sepkoski's reference number: 618]. It is not extant. Its type is Maduiya maduensis.

It was assigned to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aphelaspididae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
