Natiria was named by de Koninck (1881) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras Tr Carn Sepkoski's reference number: 362,797]. It is not extant. Its type is Natica lirata.

It was reranked as Naticella (Natiria) by Patte (1922).

It was assigned to Naticella by Patte (1922); to Craspedostomatidae by Knight et al. (1960); to Naticopsidae by Kulas and Batten (1997); to Architaenoglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Codonocheilidae by Wagner (2023).
