Menomonia was named by Walcott (1916) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm uMid-u Cm Dres-l Sepkoski's reference number: 379,1017]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Menomoniidae by Stitt (1998) and Jell and Adrain (2003).
