Chilocoriens was named by Mulsant (1846). It is extant.

It was corrected as Chilocorinae by Lawrence and Newton (1995); it was reranked as the tribe Chilocorini by Bouchard et al. (2011) and Robertson et al. (2015).

It was assigned to Coccinellidae by Lawrence and Newton (1995); and to Coccinellinae by Bouchard et al. (2011) and Robertson et al. (2015).
