Plecia lygaeoides

Taxonomy
Protomyia lygaeoides was named by Heer (1849). Its type specimen is SLJG 77465, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Radoboj (Grätz Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.

It was recombined as Penthetria lygaeoides by Evenhuis (1994); it was recombined as Plecia lygaeoides by Förster (1891), Theobald (1937), Skartveit and Nel (2017) and Skartveit and Krizmanić (2020).
