Taxonomy
Didelphys bucklandi was named by Broderip (1828). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Stonesfield Slate quarries, which is in a Bathonian marginal marine sandstone in the Taynton Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Phascolotherium bucklandi by Owen (1871), Simpson (1928), Jenkins and Crompton (1979), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004) and Butler and Sigogneau-Russel (2016).
