Taxonomy
Judicarites primordius was named by Zhao and Wang (1974). Its type specimen is NIGP 22035 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yangpuna, Xinchang, Anshun County, which is in a Pelsonian/Illyrian carbonate limestone in the Qingyan Formation of China.
