Taxonomy
Peramus minor was named by Owen (1871). Its type specimen is BMNH 47754, a mandible (left mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mammal Bed, Durlston Bay (DB83), which is in a Berriasian marine horizon in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom.
