Taxonomy
Neospirifer parenensis was named by Zavodowsky (1968). Its type specimen is TsGM 31,32/8234 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pareni River, Pareni Svita (Prichina coll), which is in a Sakmarian marine sandstone/mudstone in the Pareni Formation of the Russian Federation.
