Geranchon petrorum

Taxonomy
Lachnus petrorum was named by Scudder (1877). Its type specimen is Dawson coll 19, a wing (fragment of a wing), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Quesnel, which is in an Oligocene lacustrine shale in Canada. It is the type species of Geranchon.

It was recombined as Gerancon petrorum by Scudder (1894); it was recombined as Geranchon petrorum by Scudder (1890), Scudder (1895) and Heie and Wegierek (2011).
